Quiana Gentle-Carmona, PsyD is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist dedicated to providing compassionate, evidence-based care. She earned her master’s and doctorate degrees in Clinical Psychology from Carlos Albizu University–San Juan Campus in Puerto Rico, an American Psychological Association (APA)-accredited program. She is fully bilingual in English and Spanish.
Dr. Gentle-Carmona has specialized training in providing individual, group and family therapy to clients of all ages, socioeconomic backgrounds, sexual orientation and cultural identities, as well as conducting comprehensive psychological testing for a variety of referral concerns. Prior to graduate studies, she earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology, graduating magna cum laude from the Pontifical Catholic University of Puerto Rico.
She completed her APA-accredited internship at the Miami-Dade County Community Action and Human Services Department (CAHSD) Psychological Services, where she trained in the Head Start Program and the Violence Prevention and Intervention Division at the Coordinated Victims Assistance Center (CVAC). She later completed her Post-Doctoral Residency at The Center for Psychological Growth and Wellness, a private practice setting, providing therapy and assessment services to diverse populations with a wide range of needs.
Dr. Gentle-Carmona’s clinical experience spans a variety of settings, including the Puerto Rico Department of Education, The Help Center for Victims of Rape (part of the Puerto Rico Health Department), university counseling centers, and community mental health clinics. She has extensive clinical experience and training supporting trauma survivors of domestic violence, sexual abuse, and human trafficking, and has also worked with clients presenting with anxiety, depression, grief, interpersonal difficulties, and attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). Additionally, she has received specialized training in the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule-2 (ADOS-2) and Reunification Therapy, and has provided related clinical services.
Her therapeutic work is guided by evidence-based practices within a biopsychosocial and spiritual integrative framework, offering a holistic view of human well-being that addresses multiple dimensions of each individual’s experience. Dr. Gentle-Carmona approaches therapy as a collaborative, client-centered process, working together with clients to clarify treatment goals, foster insight, and promote meaningful and lasting change.
