Dr. Horowitz began her pursuit of higher education by obtaining a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the University of Miami. She continued her academic career at Nova Southeastern University, in Davie, FL, where she completed a Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, along with a specialization in Medical Family Therapy; this unique approach addresses the systemic interactions among patients, their families, and their doctors and supports the family system when the focus of the family is reoriented to center on health issues.

Dr. Horowitz then proceeded to complete her Doctorate in Marriage and Family Therapy from Nova Southeastern University. In addition to her Ph.D. and Master’s degree in Family Therapy, Dr. Horowitz enrolled in a second Master’s at Nova Southeastern’s H. Wayne Huizenga School of Business and Entrepreneurship to better assist her clients with numerous stressors confronted in the work environment. She specializes and is passionate in therapeutic treatment with adoption, medical cases (the delicate position of caregivers during illness in the family), depression, anxiety, addiction, and the multiple dynamics encompassing couples counseling and military families; she has a particular respect and reverence for the aging population and, as a result, consults many elderly clients in her practice as they navigate through various stages of change. Dr. Horowitz has ample experience with diverse populations and honors the valued traditions of different cultures. She is fluent in English, Spanish, and Hebrew, and has over 20 years of professional work and research experience in the field of Marriage and Family Therapy.
